Alex and Rachel's Wedding
I had the pleasure of meeting Rachel and Alex last year when I met them at their adorable apartment on the Indianapolis Canal for their engagement photos. The Indianapolis Canal is a gem hidden in the middle of the city and despite being tucked away in the middle of the skyline views, it takes you to another world and plays host to not only a gorgeous walkway along the water, but fun restaurants, live music, museums and Art Installations. It is definitely and Indianapolis favorite when it comes to photo locations! So, it was only fitting that Alex and Rachel do their Wedding on the Canal as well!
Alex and Rachel chose the beautiful Canal 337 as their Wedding Venue and I was thrilled to get a chance to shoot there again. Like I said, the canal is a photo hot spot and Canal 337 sits right on the water.
Now, the best part of this whole day for us was the fact that the weather had been calling for 100% thunderstorms ALL DAY for all ten days of the ten day forecast. When does that ever happen?! So I immediately put my plan B into action and packed the umbrella's, rain coats and planned to shoot inside most of the day. Then a Wedding miracle happened and the rain stopped just in time for photos. This is especially amazing becuase little did Alex and Rachel know, but their parents had planned a surprise gondola ride for them to enter cocktail hour in (something that Rachel had been talking about and trying to get since getting engaged!) So no rain meant the gondola ride surprise was a GO! You'll get to see her reaction to the surprise in the photos below and it was just the best thing in the world to capture it and be in on the secret!
